About Zaira
Welcome and congratulations on your pregnancy!
As a mum I know how nerve wracking and exciting this time can be! It is my goal to work with you and your family to make your journey as easy and positive as possible. One of my favourite parts of being a midwife is getting to know more about our clients and their lives, interests, pets and family and enjoy having a laugh along the way! Outside of work I love travelling, eating good food (and coffee!) and spending time with my family and our three cats.
I was inspired to become a midwife after the birth of my second child in 2012. I graduated from AUT with Bachelor of Health Science (Midwifery) in 2019 and have worked as an LMC/self-employed community midwife in Auckland and Nelson. In 2025 I completed additional study with a Postgraduate Certificate in Midwifery Practice – I enjoy sharing the new knowledge gained with clients.
I believe in the natural process of pregnancy and labour and the strength of women and their whānau. However, should complications or concerns arise I also work with specialists to ensure safe and healthy outcomes for mum and baby.
