About Ruby
Kia ora, I’m Ruby — a proud mum of three and have called Nelson home for the past 16 years. When I’m not working, you’ll often find me enjoying aerial arts, pole fitness, or pottering around in the garden.
My journey into midwifery began after the beautiful, empowering experience of my first home birth. The care I received from my midwife made me feel truly heard, informed, and safe, and it inspired me to support other women in that same way — with respect, trust, and kindness.
I’m especially passionate about physiological birth and supporting women to trust in their bodies and their instincts. I’ve completed additional training in vaginal breech birth and feel confident supporting both breech births and VBAC (vaginal birth after caesarean).
For me, midwifery is about building genuine relationships, supporting informed choices, and creating a calm, safe space where you feel respected and confident in your journey. It’s a privilege to walk alongside women and their whānau during such a special time.
